Item Of Interest Concerning Obama….

with 5 comments

A post on this Blog, “TexasDarlin” about an official complaint filed with the Illinois Bar, demanding Barack Obama be removed as an Attorney.

The complaint by “Anonymous” alleges that Barack Obama committed criminal acts and was untruthful about them on his Bar application in that he:

1. Used illegal drugs, then concealed his drug use by lying about it;

2. Failed to report unpaid criminal citations, including parking violations where the fines totaled more than $200.00 or remained unpaid.

The requested action is disbarment.

I know he admitted to drug use in his autobiography, but the “criminal citations” deal is new to me, although I have fallen victim to the same deal, and once had a warrant out for my arrest for unpaid traffic citations. Believe me, they don’t screw around with those things, because they want their money !  😀

  1. If they were to disbar Obama for such claims, they would have to then disbar nearly EVERY lawyer for the same exact charges …

  2. Well…..certainly not every Attorney, but I agree many of them. 😉

Lot’s of people commit murder. That certainly isn’t a justification to make it legal, or not punish those who do, right?

  3. Funny how people filing such complaints lack the cjones to properly identify themselves. What are they afraid of? And what a waste of time. No agency acts on annonymous complaints, least of all the agencies overseeing the licensing of professionals.

As for the substance of the complaint, it assumes the alleged conduct is required to be disclosed. If the alleged conduct is not required to be disclosed, then how is it problematic or grounds for a complaint?

    Details, people, details.

  4. btw – it is spelled “perjury”

also – why is it that a number of the anti-Obama blogs censor out comments questioning the basis for their claims/allegations/conspiracies – texasdarlin being one of those. texasdarlin only allows comments which agree with her point of view. a bit un-American, wouldn’t you say?

  5. BTW, sauer kraut, only one “N” in anonymous. :p

Well, given the abuses of process carried out by members of both parties over the years, I am not at all concerned with the complaint to the Illinois Bar being anonymous. They will look at the information, the evidence provided, and decide if it is valid. Or not. State Bar associations, by-and-large don’t have a very good record policing themselves.

Disclosure of past criminalities is required under all Bar rules I have read. Same for employment by the Federal Government. Obviously, in this case, it is pretty clear-cut, as Obama knew what drugs he had used, as admitted in his own book. All those unpaid parking tickets, moving violations, I can see those could be forgotten….of course he did finally pay them up, so I cannot see how he forgot them on the Bar application. :S

As for Texasdarlin, I disagree. It is the very essence of America that one has the liberty to control what is “yours”. Only in a police-state are individual actions regulated. I suppose you support bringing back the FCC fairness rules? The so-called “fairness doctrine” as well?

Given the rancor on blogs, boards and what have you, the total lack of civility, the mean-spirited “snipes” (like pointing out spelling errors) made only to project some superiority to those one disagrees with, it often becomes counter-productive and tedious to allow every post made. Doing so drives off those of like-mind, and therefore becomes in and of itself a form of censorship, abridging the rights of one group to think as they want to by the constant disagreements and arguing of a very few.

Finally, several of the My Barack Obama groups on his website censor the posts there as well…so they evidently agree with the points I just made. 😀
